Joining the Club

Before joining the club, you need to know how to shoot safely. This means you must have completed an Archery GB approved beginners' course, or have previous archery experience.

  • If you complete one of our beginners' courses, you will be invited to apply to join the club, and you will be given all of the details you need to do this while on the course. An induction day will be arranged for everyone on the course to introduce you to the club, and to make sure you know how everything works.
  • If you wish to join having completed a course elsewhere, we'll ask you bring along your course completion certificate, and we will also arrange an induction session for you. During this session, one of our coaches will check that you know how to shoot properly and safely.
  • If you are an experienced archer, we will arrange an induction session for you. During this session, one of our coaches will carry out an assessment to ensure you know how to shoot properly and safely.

As a beginner, we strongly recommend not buying your own equipment for a couple of months, until your technique has developed and your fitness has built up. At that point, seek advice from our coaches and members who can offer their experience to make sure you get the correct equipment without wasting your money!

Information regarding the annual membership fees, and how the club operates, is available either on this website or in our club guide.

Please note:

We cannot accept juniors below the age of 8 under any circumstances.

Membership of Burton Bridge Archers is subject to approval by the committee.

Enquire About Joining

If you wish to apply to join the club, please fill in the form below. We will get back to you with details on the next steps you need to follow to become a club member. In the comments section, please let us know where you completed your beginners' course, or which club you were previously a member of. Please also mention if you have a disability as this affects the fee you would pay to join.

If you do not have a beginners course certificate, and you have not previously been a member of an AGB affiliated archery club, please select 'Other' under experience, and describe your experience level in the comments. We need to ensure that all of our members can shoot safely to AGB standards, so if you are a self taught archer, we will usually ask you to complete a course before joining.

We ask for your age group as this determines the joining fee, and we ask for your previous experience so that we can ensure you meet the requirements for joining the club.
